Creative Arts

The Creative Arts community at Christ Church provides a community for different artists to share ideas, projects, and their desires to serve God and others through their specialties. This community is open to seasoned artists and those first exploring a particular gift of passion. We know that God moves through the hands and minds of artists in a myriad of ways.  We hope that through this collective, artists would feel known and valued. We also hope that through this community, artists will find a safe place to share their work, explore what God might be saying to them, and serve through many different ministries.

Experience God's hand in your life through:
Paint and watercolor, music and song, dance, poetry, drama, photography, video, digital art, prose, and other mediums.

Come Celebrate the Visual and Performing Artists of Christ Church!

Saturday, May 12 | 6:30-9:00 pm Fellowship Hall
We invite artists to exhibit or perform their original pieces as representations of our theme, Inside Out, and their creative purpose in the Church. The evening will feature a gallery of a variety of visual art mediums, musical performances, and readings of poetry, spoken word, and much more. Light refreshments will also be served.

Participation is open to artists working in painting (acrylic, oil, water media), drawing, sculpture, fiber, graphics, mixed media, jewelry, photography, pottery, metalwork, glass, wood, digital art, and enamel. We seek to maintain the highest standards for both artist and the viewing public. We enforce an “ORIGINALS ONLY” policy. No copies, kits, signed offset, laser, ink jet, giclee, or photocopied reproductions, commercially made products, fabricated forms, or settings in lapidary work will be accepted. Exceptions are made for those applying under the heading of printmaking wherein prints must be produced by the artist using printmaking techniques and in photography and digital art where prints must be printed by the creator, signed, and numbered.

Spoken Word, Music, Performance, Video and Film:
Participation is open to artists working in performing arts such as poetry, spoken word, singer/songwriting, music, short dramas, film, and other video shorts. We enforce an “ORIGINALS ONLY” policy so please be sure that the piece you submit is original to you. Please submit a script or video clip of any performance pieces by the deadline listed below.

Theme | Inside Out:
A broad theme where we hope to capture images and art that help artists celebrate their creative purposes. Artists may submit work related to this theme. Since worship is directed at God but also comes from our own unique contexts, experiences, and stories, we will consider projects and pieces that point both toward God as well as the tangible, daily human experiences of God.
