The Need
800 Children under the age of 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene.
The Solution
$50 provides life-changing clean water to one child in need. Clean water transforms communities, reduces disease and allows children to attend school and flourish.
Christ Church
Since 2010, Christ Church has had a team of runners who have trained together for the Chicago Marathon and raised approximately $1.5 million for clean water, providing opportunities to flourish to over 26,000 children.
Our Christ Church team meets every Saturday morning to run together. As we train, we share stories and build community and friendship with one another.
Note for First-Time Runners
If you’re thinking, “I can’t do this; I’m not a runner,” guess again! 80% of TWV team members had never run a 5K before signing up for the marathon! Team World Vision’s base training program will literally take you from the couch and never having run a day in your life, to the finish line of your first marathon. Anyone can do this!
